The first thread! Woo!

The moon hung high in the sky, a slit of silver against the indigo sky. Twinkling stars dotted the night, shining down on the city. The tiny crescent moon barely gave any light at all, leaving the town dark. The small figure walking through the empty streets barely noticed the lack of light, her vire making it difficult to even know it was night.

Melody stalked through the city, her hands shoved in the pockets of her yoga pants. Her icy gaze was fixed on the ground, though she saw everything out of her peripheral vision. She kicked a small pebble from the cobblestone, watching it bounce off a building before plopping back to the ground. With a snarl, she kicked it again and again, following it down the street. When she finally lost it, she turned around and began to head towards her apartment at the mountain base.

As Melody walked, she noticed a man out of her peripheral vision. He was walking along the street opposite her, and she ignored him for a moment. But out of nowhere, he appeared in front of her. She had to repress a shout of shock, but managed to control herself.

"What business is it of yours?" She growled, pushing past the man. Her blond hair was tied up in a neat pony tail that still reached her mid-back, and her icy blue eyes sent the man a vicious glare before she continued on.

Melody's lip curled when the man appeared in front of her again, her eyes narrowing. He must have a speed vire. She decided silently, meeting is gaze icily.

"It isn't that cold." She snarled, shifting the ligh coat she wore so it covered her front. Though in truth, the cold permeated through her light layers. And she felt the extreme weather even worse than others, as her sense of touch was heightened along with the other four. Of course, she'd never admit such a thing, especially to a stranger.

Melody once again pushed past him, casting the man a steely look as she passed. The thin tank top she wore under the jacket didn't do much for the cold, but she didn't care. The girl just wanted to get home, to her nice house at the mountain's base.

Melody snarled at him, stopping abruptly to avoid running into him.

"Would you stop?" She growled, pushing away his offered coat, "I'm fine, just leave me alone." Pompous imbecile. Melody's icy stare once again glared at the man, lip curled angrily like a cat. Once again, she roughly pushed past him, wishing to simply shove him out of the way. Instead she shouldered him, brushing past the annoying man.

"What do you want?" Melody asked suddenly, turning to face him. Her face was almost pure anger, and her cold gaze stared straight into his soul. "I don't know you, so why are you following me?" She let her anger leak into her voice, baring her teeth like an animal. Standards Melody. She told herself silently in attempt to calm her. She stopped snarling, instead staring at him coolly, her icy gaze still terrifying.

If Melody was shocked by the man's gentlemanly excuse, she didn't show it. Her face was a mask, and she simply continued walking as he asked her how long she'd lived there for. She didn't get a chance to reply as the man tripped, though he caught himself before he hit the ground. The corners of her mouth twitched, and she fought to keep the laugh down.

"That is, again, none of your business." She hissed back once he stood again. The blond simply continued stalking towards the mountain's base, trying to ignore the man and her chattering teeth.

Melody glanced skeptically at his outstretched hand, giving him an odd look. What a boringly generic name she noted to herself, taking his offered hand lightly.

"Melody." She stated coolly, watching him with narrowed eyes. She dropped is hand after less than a moment, frowning slightly. Why is he following me so stubbornly she asked herself angrily, I'm not the least bit interesting. That was when she remembered the nice shiner she had hovering over her right eye, and the dried, bloody cut on her cheek.

Melody's icy eyes narrowed at his compliment, dropping her hand to her side. "Thanks." She replied shortly, glancing up at the crescent moon. Such a nice night she decided, reveling in the little light.

"My my, when did you get those?" Tom asked, evidently noticing her bruise and cut. Melody self consciously raising a hand to wipe away the dry blood. She looked at her fingers for a moment before shaking the dried crimson from her otherwise flawless skin.

"This? This is nothing." She laughed roughly, "Just a little....skirmish earlier." A smile fought its way to her face, remembering how the other guy had looked. She'd left him with a bloody nose, possibly broken jaw, a few cuts on the neck, and almost ripped his ear off. A cold breeze floated towards them, blowing her ponytail to the side, revealing another cut on her neck, this one still bubbling with blood. Melody could smell the blood, and her nose twitched at the overwhelming scent. The cold bit through her thin jacket, but she ignored it as best she could.

Melody sneered at his suggestion of a hospital, almost barking a laugh at it. Though she contained it.

"Ha, I don't need a hospital." She rolled her eyes at the thought, "It's not deep, I have the supplies to deal with it at home." Not like it's uncommon for me She chuckled to herself, wondering if she'd ever be numb to the pain of being hit. She hoped she would, as it hurt her more than she'd like. She winced slightly as the freezing wind sliced into her neck wound, but shrugged it off.

"It doesn't hurt anyways." She added protectively, brushing her pale fingers across the bleeding wound. She looked at the crimson liquid on her white skin, entranced for a moment by the sight before shaking the red off.

"No." Melody growled, "I'm perfectly fine. I've dealt with this before. I know how to take care of it." She gave the man another harsh glare, pushing past him towards Asken's base once more. Just leave me alone. she snarled in her mind. She stalked on wards, cracking her neck as she went.

"Just wonderful." Melody grumbled, glancing up at the night sky. She stopped less than a second, parting her lips to catch the scents in the air with her tongue. She sensed a change in the wind, a slight shift that promised rain.....

"It's going to rain." She stated as she continued walking, glancing up at the seemingly clear sky. At the moment, it seemed crazy that it could possibly, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Melody laughed with triumph as the moon was covered by a small gray cloud.

"See?" She smirked, walking quicker so as to beat the rain. "It'll be here soon." She muttered to herself, trying to get back to Asken. She turned a corner, and sighed gratefully when she saw her large house in view. Sadly, it was slightly up on the mountain, so she would have to do some hiking. But she didn't mind. The blond picked up the pace, and swiftly began her ascent.

"Fine." Melody snarled, punching open the door and stalking inside. She swiftly shrugged out of her jacket, hanging it on the coat rack next to the entrance. "Just in time." She muttered to herself as rain began pouring from the heavens just outside. Melody walked through the large house, towards a big room with a couch and TV, beyond that a staircase spiraling upwards.

"Make yourself at home." Melody grumbled angrily, pressing on ward. She rounded the corner sharply, stepping into the kitchen.

"Thanks." Melody called monotonously from the kitchen. Her house was quite large, with two stories along with a basement. The living room was huge, with three couches and a wide-screen TV. The kitchen was a little smaller than the living room, but still pretty big. There were four bedrooms on the first floor, and five more on the second. The basement bore another living room with yet another TV and two more couches. There were 6 bathrooms in all, 3 on the first floor 2 on the second and 1 in the basement. A spiraling staircase led the way up to the second floor from the side of the living room.

The blond woman stalked swiftly out of the kitchen, along with the delicious aroma of shrimp and foie gras drifted into the room as Melody stepped into view.

"Snacks?" She asked politely, setting the plate of prestigious appetizers on the glass coffee table.

Melody nodded, sitting down lightly in the chair opposite her guest. She crossed her legs with a shrug, leaning back in the plush furniture. On the arm of the chair sat a remote, and Melody clicked a few buttons. The TV turned on, featuring a show on sharks. Melody swiftly changed the channel, not wanting to bore herself with the monotonous television.

She flipped through the channels, not taking any food for herself, while sitting comfortably. Her eyes never strayed from the wide-screen, uncaring for the man in her house. His presence wasn't something she could ignore though, her senses always keeping him in mind. It bothered her.

Melanie flicked through the channels even faster upon noticing her unwanted guest watching with her. He has no right She began in her mind, her eyes narrowed slits as she glared at the TV. Why is he even in Asken? I mean, seriously.
